Crashing trying to create focus merge

I have tried as little as 2 and as many as 10. It brings in the images, but when I click ok, the app immediately crashes. It does it every time.

Any help is appreciated, I was excited learning this option in the tutorials.

 

solution:  if found this trying other things while waiting. If the image is a png it will crash. If it is a jpg it will work as expected

I could not reproduce this. Does it happen with one specific PNG or with any PNG?
