I have just purchased Serif Affinity Photo for desktop and am trying to use it for the first time tonight. How do I get the front page to load as all I am getting is the store with lots of other affinity products to buy. I want to upload some photographs but cannot find or access the start up page. Help Appreciated.

That sounds like the startup screen, there should be a small checkbox bottom left of that screen, uncheck it to not have that screen startup when you start affinity photo.

Next, go to File > New Document or Press Cmd+N (Ctrl+N on windows) to create a new document.

It sounds like you are talking about the Welcome screen, which is the startup page. You did not say if you are using the Mac or Windows version of Affinity Photo, but the Mac one should looks something like this:

Note that along the bottom is a checkbox (circled in red) you can untick to prevent that screen from appearing on startup, & to its right a Close Button (circled in yellow) & a New Document button (circled in cyan) that do what they say. Above them (outlined in a pink rectangle) are other things that can be accessed from this screen, including samples you can download & links to the tutorial pages, this forum, & so on. The large panel on the left shows various different things, including special offers & news items like for the Spotlight site.

If you have set the screen not to show on startup & later want to access it, like to download samples, choose "Welcome..." from the Help menu.

I am not sure what the Windows version is like but it should be similar.

Affinity Photo doesn't have an upload feature - use the operating system's native file manager to copy the images from your SD card to whichever folder you want to keep them in.
