Celecio
Hey there! I have a problem I couldn't solve for hours now. When I export the image with the exact same settings sometimes the background is completely white and sometimes greyish. When I want to upload them on my instagram feed it shows exactly as on the attached image. I just don't get it… Hopefully someone can help :-). Thank you
v_kyr
When you export in which format (PNG, JPG, ?), also is the document background in AD set to transparent or white/grey like shown above? And what's the color profile used in the document setup? Celecio
Hi, thanks for responding. I export the images as JPGs. The BG in not transparent. I also tried by adding a new layer to the background as #FFFFFF. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Profile is common srgb.
v_kyr
In AD the default color when creating a new document is always a gray of RGB (235,235,235) and not a pure white here. Though if you added a background layer with a fill color of #FFFFFF (255,255,255) and that looks gray afterwards when exported this sounds strange, as far as everything was setup accordingly. If you change it to transparent (File > Document Setup > Color tab) does the image fill the entire canvas, or do you see any checkerboard areas indicating it does not? If it does not, instead of adding a new layer, in the File > Export window, click on the "More" button, & then click on the color rectangle to the right of the "Matte:" text. In the color chooser popup that appears, set the matte color to pure white using whatever method you like best to do that. If you do that, you should not get anything besides a white background. That is not true for my copy of Affinity Designer. New documents have no layers & thus no colors, but unless any shape tool defaults are in effect, the choices are pure black & pure white. For me the above shown color panel setting is always the default in AD when it is started and a new document is created. Behaves equally on Mac and Win here. When first I create a new document, before it has any layers, my Color panel in RGB slider mode looks like this: If I choose "Factory Reset" from the Edit > Defaults menu, after creating a new document, I do get the the RGB (235,235,235) default, but it isn't "sticky" -- the next time I create a new document (whether I quit & restart the app or not) it reverts to what you see above. firstdefence
That is odd, It's not supposed to do that by design is it? This RGB (235,235,235) is one of my pet annoyances, not being able to have your own settings for new shapes etc drives me nuts.
