text style export and import retreval & file system

I inadvertently deleted text styles while attempting to detach style from a page. There is no help instruction for doing any of these function. Only aware of an import function for text styles but have no idea where such styles can be retrieved nor saved.

You can import text styles from any existing .afpub/.afdesign/.afphoto file. With the Text Styles panel active, click on the hamburger menu and chose Import Styles... and then select the file that contains the styles you want.

The help for all of this is in the Text Styles section of the Publisher Help.

Walt, Anyone?

I don’t know how I’ve done it, but it appears I have overwritten the original FX styles that came as default.  I was careful to only save a style when I was in my own category I had labeled “bills styles”.  If anyone has a clue as to the error in my ways, please advise! But then, I have noticed wonky behavior saving styles before.

But most of all, I would really really like to get the default FX styles back with out having to delete and reinstall Affinity on my iOS device ( and of course  exporting all my projects on iOS out of Affinity and back in again).  Can anyone advise the best way to do this? Unfortunately I didn’t use some of the ones I really liked, else I could re-create the style from one of my objects in a project.

Thanks, Bill

As, to my knowledge, Publisher doesn't run on iOS I think you've posted in the wrong forum. Also, I think your screenshot is for Designer, which is another clue, I suppose :)

I can't help; sorry.

There is not much information, if any, about the filing or much else about systems data structures. While experimenting with Publisher I've done much the same as you. The only way I've found to recover files like the styles is to purge the Publisher registry related files and the related user files after a remove Program function from the Control Panel; then reinstall. Then I created a new document and imported the styles from the new document. Actually, I'm doing that now to recover from a TOC issue.

Seems like a good subject for part of a  tutorial video. Every Thing You Wanted to Know About Text Styles | but was afraid to find out.

Text Styles could be an Epic Series of videos.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
