Link Frame Text = transfer of Transparency / Gradient

Recommended Posts

Is it the desired and expected behavior?

I have two unlinked text frames. At first, the effect is applied using the Transparency Tool, on the second using the Fill Tool/Gradient.

If I link these two frames, the transparency will be transferred to the second frame, and his gradient will be lost.

This is true even if the first is filled with a gradient, and a second transparency.

Second question - is possible unlink linked text frame?

Click on one of the red arrows, then click on that text frame. You'll see the cursor change to a Breaking Link image.

Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks. I clicked everywhere, but I did not notice the changes of the cursor :-)
It could also be in the context menu.

Are you sure that's what's happening? Linking frames will concatenate the text in the frames, but won't otherwise affect their formatting. Is it possible that the first frame had hidden overflow text with the transparency, and linking the frames caused this text to flow into the second frame, pushing the second frame's content into overflow? Was filler text involved?

Thank you for answer. Text frames were filled with Insert Filler Text. I do not know how this stuff works, but it may go on infinitely, and thus completely suppress the original text, including its style.
