I am trying to add a horizontal linear gradient to my stroke.

The first question I have it how do I add ball end caps to my stroke in Designer or Publisher? (I see how to change it to ball/butt/square.) I thought I saw I could do this in Designer, but now I cannot find out how. (I wanted to see if I could do it in Publisher first.)

The second question I have is how do I rotate the gradient within the stroke/shape? I see how to change the type of gradient (i.e. linear, elliptical, radial, conical), but I would like a horizontal linear stroke and I can only seem to do vertical. How do I change that?

Any information on how/if this can be done is helpful.

Thank you!

In Designer you use the Stroke Panel (View > Studio > Stroke)

  • Select the gradient tool
  • Select Stroke
  • Select Linear
  • Follow the screenshot

I changed the gradient colour to show it better

Is there a way to change the stroke so that it actually has a ball/diamond/square on the end (like the image below)?

You can use the Arrow Shape, that has various terminator shapes but a stroke doesn't, alternatively, you can create the end shape  and snap it to the end of the stroke.
