DanEv Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 I can't see an undo or redo button on the tool bar, I used them quite frequently in PagePlus and is useful to have, can this option be added? Thanks. Jowday 1 Quote
CarlM Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Personally I either use CTRL-Z to undo and CTRL-Y to redo, or the History list to undo several previous actions, but undo and redo button could be useful options on the tool bar - or they could be options in the Customise Toolbar dialogue. Quote
mac_heibu Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 You have a menu entry for that, a keyboard shortcut (, which you can accomodate) a history panel, where you can get back to every document state. why one more option? Why drowning the user interface in redundant representations of one single command? Michail 1 Quote

I have gone back to Page Plus until they are available in Affinity Publisher. What are the developers thinking? Quote
Staff MEB Posted February 27, 2019 Staff Posted February 27, 2019 Hi thomas.dahl, Welcome to Affinity Forums Optional buttons were already added/logged as an improvement request. It should come at some point in one of the upcoming Betas (or updates). No eta. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff MEB Posted February 27, 2019 Staff Posted February 27, 2019 I believe they will be available as buttons for the main toolbar (which can be customized right-clicking on it and selecting Customise Toolbar...). So they should be "removable". Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff MEB Posted February 27, 2019 Staff Posted February 27, 2019 I don't know if they will be enabled by default or not. That's up to the dev team. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Michail Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 And I would like to have a big button for quitting the program. The Windows cross is too small and too far away for me Some don't want to work with "Word", but they want APub to look like "Word". fde101 and Richs 2 Quote

Staff MEB Posted June 3, 2020 Staff Posted June 3, 2020 Hi thomas.dahl, This is still listed/logged as an improvement request but was never assigned to a dev - probably because of lack of time or other things taking priority. I've bumped the report and passed it to a developer. Hopefully this will speed things up. Sorry. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
DMT Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Development Team, WHY WOULD YOU NOT HAVE UNDO ARROWS???? EVERY OTHER PROGRAM ON THE PLANET HAS THEM! Please remedy this in the next update because it is annoying as all get out. Thank you. Fixx 1 Quote

I hope that for Serif the number of question marks does not determine priorities ... Alfred 1 Quote

fde101 Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 I use Thunderbird as my email client, and that doesn't have them either. Neither does Safari or most other web browsers I've seen. I checked the Mac versions of Pages, Nisus Writer Pro and Mellel, which are word processing applications, and none of them have Undo or Redo buttons on their toolbars by default. Pages doesn't even offer them to be added to the toolbar (the other two do have them as options when customizing). QuarkXPress doesn't have one visible by default anywhere either, and I don't see any way to add one. I would say that most of the professional software and even much of the consumer software I am finding does NOT in fact have Undo or Redo buttons wasting screen space in the default configurations, leaving that either as an option for user customization or simply not providing it, expecting users to either use the pull-down menus or the keyboard shortcuts. garrettm30 Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 MEB has said that optional buttons will be coming. That is fine by me, but I will never use them, because it is just too slow compared to keyboard shortcuts. For accessibility for people with only one functional hand, it can make good sense, but a hand on the keyboard and a hand on the mouse is a lot faster than relying on the mouse only. I am sure I use that keyboard shortcut across multiple apps even hundred times a day. Quote
R.K. Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 (edited) Hi - As a newbie trying the first steps I can only say optional Undo/Redo buttons or arrows (I don't care) would be a great help. Who doesn't want this option can turn it off. May anybody be so kind to tell me how I can display the History list to undo several previous actions? At the moment I only find the possibility to undo the previous step under "Bearbeiten" (German edition). This takes endlessly if one want to undo several steps. Thanks in advance!
