Conversion to RGB 16b : AP crashed

Recommended Posts

Hi,

It happened twice consecutively on two different files : the clone brush tool is selected and I convert the file from RGB/32 to RGB/16, then AP crashes. At the reopening, all modifications are lost although a "recovery file" could be opened.

Cheers,

Patrick

I have tried to replicate this on a number of files, but AP Beta 188 doesn't crash for me

Hi Dave,

Did you try after having used the cloning brush tool ? If yes, it might be something extra...

Patrick

I can confirm that here.

  • Load RAW (CR2) file, Project set at 32bit HDR
  • Minor Development, Exposure, Blackpoint, Brightness, Shadows
  • Develop sent to Photo Persona
  • Grabbed the Clone Brush and started cloning out some parts of the image.
  • Changed the Document Color from 32 bit HDR, to 16 bit Profoto
  • CRASH, Affinity Photo disappears.

I've tried about 10 times and I can't get this to crash :o I followed the steps reported by Ron P. exactly! I'll try with a few different raw files.

Mine are nef files but it happened also with tif files.

Chr  Chris B.

I've been playing around with it for the last half hour or so. I've tried using other tools like the inpainting, selection tools, ect. The program would not crash. However every time I do like in the video, it crashes immediately upon converting.

I also discovered that while using 32 bit HDR, using the inpainting tool results in the area being painted over in black. Convert it back to RGB 16 and it works as it should.

I've uploaded a couple of dump reports where the program crashed, hopefully they'll help the developers.
