Affinity Designer 1.6.5 Mac App Store

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I'm noticing that the latest version of designer is 1.6.5 but I'm stuck on 1.6.1 through the Mac App store. How can I update to the latest version. I read somewhere that 1.7.0 is coming soon? Where is this stated.

Is it also possible to get a product key and just update manually through the website if your purchase was through the app store?

Hi @Marco R,

Welcome to the Affinity forum.

Unfortunately it is not possible to update using a Product Key if the app was bought through the Mac App Store. The update should appear in the 'Updates' section in the App Store. If it's not listed there can you please go to the Purchased section in the App Store app and check what it says in the button in front of Affinity Photo.

You can also try to sign-out and sign-in again (with the same Apple ID used to purchase the application), and check if the update appears.

Should the update still not appear for you, then would encourage you to contact Apple for further assistance - https://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/

Any spelling or grammatical errors found in the above post are deliberate and included to boost the self-esteem of those who spot them.

Assuming I'm interpreting Latest Affinity releases on each platform by store correctly, Designer 1.6.1 and 1.6.5 for MacOS should be functionally the same, just sold via different mechanisms.
