Can't generate guides

it´s not possible to generate guides over the horizontal or vertical rulers

I found this same thing yesterday, except that if I change the cursor to the Text Tool, I can then set the guides from either ruler.   I don’t remember whether this was the issue previously.

But you should be able to set the guides from the rulers with the cursur. Affinity designer do that.

So - is it a bug ???

Here on Mac I can set guides only with the Move tool (the arrow). Neither Text tool will let me drag a guide off of the rulers.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I have a MAC 27” retina display with Sierra OS.   I cannot set Guides using the move tool.   Just tried it again with a new document in Publisher v. 174.   Only the text tool works to set guides for me.

Looks to me as though you are absolutely correct.   We seem to have a bug.

Have you tried doing the starting up with the control key held down to clear the user settings?

No.  No need to.   We have our answer in another section on this topic in these forums.    We have to use the zoom tool and click inside a single-page document window to get them.   Pretty simple, actually.

That was about scroll bars, wasn't it? This discussion is about Guides.

Oops.

Anyway, the guides only work for me with the text tool.   No other tool.

This should only work with the move tool. If you had an older build which had the buttons to turn this on and off for the tools it may have been turned off and the setting save but as that buttons been removed subsequently your user setting have not been updated to suit. A crtl and run would have reset these now allowing them to work for you

Cheers
