Xeevis Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Hello, I've created a gift voucher in Designer, but I have like 10 different variants where only one text layer is different. I'd very much like to avoid having separate files for each because design may be changed and I need to reflect that for all variants. And I'd like to be able to export all 10 variants into separate print PDFs similarly to how slices work, is it possible? Thanks.
v_kyr Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Hi and welcome to the forum! See the following tutorials about Artboards: 2. Artboards • Artboards: Basics • Artboards: Exporting and Printing • Artboards: Colour and Opacity • Artboards: From Content • Artboards: Design Aids Additionally take a look at "Artboard" in the Buil-in help. - Further if you combine Artboards with Symbols here ... Symbols (1.5) ... you should be able to get close to what you are looking after. Xeevis Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 Thanks for the reply, this indeed helps. I'm wondering if it's possible to create template artboard and let other artboards inherit its base design? The problem I'm trying to solve is that if I make change to the base design I want it to be applied to all other variants too as easily as possible.
v_kyr Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Well Artboards behave more or less similar to documents here, meaning you can create and copy them etc. For sort of inheriting objects and apply changes on them see the usage of Symbols (the last link shown in my previous post). Xeevis Posted November 27, 2018 Author Posted November 27, 2018 Artboards + Symbols did the trick exactly how I imagined it, thanks!
