Image Map, then Convert to Curves

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm using Affinity Designer as an alternative to Adobe Illustrator. I need to be able to map a black and white image, and then convert that image to curves. I can't seem to do this with Affinity Designer. This feature makes it easy to color black and white drawings done on paper. Is there any way to do this with Affinity Designer? I like the software, but I'm noticing many lacking features that I need.

Hi Judia,

Welcome to the forums :)

Converting pixel to vector shapes (auto tracing) isn't currently possible in Affinity Designer, but we certainly hope to add this in a future update!

This has been discussed multiple times on our forums, see below, with other users suggesting workarounds and alternative software options.

Hi Oval :)

Unfortunately these roadmaps aren't currently available, the below is a response from Serif regarding this -

“Serif will be putting together a public list of improvements we are considering for future updates, which will be made available on the forums in the future.“

I'll edit my previous post to correct this link now, thanks!
