ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I see that AD and APh have, not the same item positions and toolbar height. A bit inconsistent For APu I don't know but maybe too.
ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 To be more consistent with macOS toolbar design (gradient), maybe take out the lightning and have just from one to second color gradient. Left simple gradient like macOS is using it and right AD/AP now.

Here's a side-by-side of Photo 1.7.0.101 against Designer 1.7.0.3 showing they're the same now. Thanks for bringing it to our attention though - if it wasn't an area we were in the middle of changing then it would've been very worrying indeed!?! bagmetv and Uncle Mez 2

ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 @MattP I did update the AP to 1.7.0.101 the misalignment is still there. I look at it at an external 2k monitor, not retina.
A_B_C Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Maybe it is different on Mojave … on Sierra, I can confirm the misalignment … no Retina display …

The App icons are different size and position too in the latest betas.

We're wondering if you've ever modified the buttons on there, or if they happen to trigger a 'more' button if they would fall off the end of the window on your Mac? We're not seeing the issue here on our devices, so just trying to get as much info as possible - thanks!
A_B_C Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Okay, it seems I was able to fix this alignment issue on my computer. This did the trick: Removed all buttons and spaces from the toolbar Closed the app Reopened the app Misalignment was gone (A) Brought standard buttons back Everything perfect, even after closing and relaunching the app (B) Hope that will give you a clue … Alex
A_B_C Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 FWIW, there was no More … button that could have caused the issue.

Do you have a document open in Photo, I ask because it appears that Publisher and Designer do have documents open. I can't tell with Photo. Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
ajharok Posted November 22, 2018 Author Posted November 22, 2018 @Old Bruce i opened all Apps, one document open in every one but the problem is there. As you can see, there are misalignments and different icon sizes between the Apps.

mac_heibu Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Yes, it is so extremely heavy to try A_B_Cs proposal. It will take you hours! If this fix should work for you, the team has one more clue for fixing measures. If you deny assisting, may we know, what is your intention for taking part in prerelease testing? Old Bruce 1
ajharok Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 @mac_heibu don't know what your problem is but I did write just what is not ok, showed it 10x times and the fix that A_B_C will not fix the problem that the icons are a different size in the apps. The misalignment is a second thing that is not ok. Did a test now if I select show icons and text, both apps are aligned ok.
A_B_C Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 As far as I can see, Designer and Photo have the same persona icon size, while the persona icons in Publisher are slightly larger. But Publisher is still “more beta” than the other two apps, so I would perhaps expect that something like that should happen … at least, the developers will know now …

If you don't try it, how can you know what it will do? More to the point, since they can't duplicate this problem at Affinity, if you do try it & report here whatever it or does not do, that will help them find & eliminate the cause. ajharok Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 With the latest beta (1.7.0.102) of AP the icons are ok and everything is aligned.
