floatingonair Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 I just purchased the Daub papers. Downloaded the zipped file, opened it and tried to import them into the Asset panel and it will not import the png files. Did some research and saw that it should be in some other format. What is the solution to this problem? Quote
Wosven Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Hi, Are you sure they should be imported as assets? Assets are vectors, if those are images, you just need to keep them in a folder for using them in your documents when needed. Quote
Dan C Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Hi floatingonair The pack you've purchased contains an .afbrushes file which can be imported into either Affinity Photo or Designer - we've created an installation guide for this. This pack also includes paper textures in the form of PNGs, these are designed to be used as textures and backgrounds for pixel work using the brushes and can't be imported into the asset panel as Wosven has explained above. I'd recommend checking out our Spotlight Article on the pack, which shows how the artist uses these textures. I hope this helps! Quote
Druidicus Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Just purchased the DAUB watercolor pack for Affinity Designer/Photo but do not understand what the SUT files are and how to use them, any ideas pleeeese. Quote

The SUT file type is primarily associated with Clip Studio Paint. Thus brush types in SUT files are brushes for Clip Studio Paint. You don't need those for the Affinity apps, since these deal instead with .afbrushes and .abr files. Further when in doubt what a file extension type is meant to be for, you can always ask the internet for help (see for example here). If you got SUT files are you sure you purchased the right version of the product? The Daub Brushes website has a version for Clip Studio Paint and a version for Affinity. artify Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Hi there, i just stumbled upon the missing "DAUB papers" assets as well - I bought the DAUB Watercolor & washes pack and used the new account download feature inside Affinity Photo 1.9x (which is unocked, once you registered). So there are assets - if you watch just the first minute in the video of the spotlight article (linked above by Dan C) you see them installed in the assets panel ... and to be honest these Paper Stack assets are essential or an awesome feature - depends on the creative abilites & perspective 😉. But thery are not installed correctly via the Affinity Photo "in app download feature" - the catogory inside the assest panel will be created, but its empty. The solution : login into your shop account via the browser and download the *.afassets file titled "Papers" (around 470 MB) and the install it manually - using the assets panel settings dropdown and "Import Assets ..." menu option, which will create a secondary "DAUB Papers2" category ... and by some update magic also the original category "DAUB Papers" gets populated with the papers as well ... sounds like a bug. cheers artify Quote

It works fine for me running macOS Catalina on my iMac. Which OS & version are you running on your machine? artify Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 I run on Windows 10 (Feature Version 20H2) ... and I tried this on my iPad Pro with iOS 14.3 and up-to-date Affinity Photo and the same thing happens there as well, with th elittel difference that after installing from insode AP there is no asset category at all - but after manually installling the afassets file, again 2 categories showed up. And funny enough on the iPad / iOS I uninstalled one of the 2 (duplicated) assests category and it deleted both ... hard wired stranger things 😉. But I can work with the assets, so it is no show / creative stopper ... just a bug(s) bunny hanging around - easter near-by ? Quote
Dan C Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Hi @artify, Welcome to the forums and thanks for your report We're aware of an issue with the registration and content syncing process whereby if you do not already have an asset category, the installed assets do not show. If this is the case, after installation you can simply create an empty category in the Assets Studio and you should see the installed content appear. This is logged as a bug with our developers and we hope to resolve it shortly - I hope this helps! Quote
