I am drawing a robot and need to make a circle for the ears and cut it in half, then flip it and apply it to the other side of the head for the other ear.

I cannot find a way to cut the circle in half. Am I missing something?

You could use the segment shape for that

or the Pie Tool, and you could also draw a circle and use another shape to boolean subtract.

Thanks. I think I have the video on how to do that. I just never thought to go there.

I have 102 videos on my computer of how to do things but I needed to know what tool to use as they don't have big explanations for things. Just titles.

Thanks again.

Yet another way: draw the circle, convert it to curves, & break it at the top & bottom nodes to create two half circles.

Categorized lists of the official video tutorials can be found here for Designer & here for Photo. Many of them apply to both apps. You don't need to download them to your computer; just click on a title to stream it to your browser.

How does that work? I can open the curve at two points but that doesn't change anything. They're still connected and I cannot remove that half part.

What is that you're doing at the end to the right-end node? Why isn't just the single node moving away but the entire segment?

Anyway, I've found that I have to deselect the entire circle and can then select each half again. It isn't visible that the line has been broken before the selection is redone.

After hitting "Convert to curves" the Node tool is active automatically - then select the 2 points -> "Break Curve" - click 1 point hit cmd+A to select all connected pointsand drag away or delete.
