AffinityDesigner consistently crashes while opening it

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Since today (after already using it), my AffinityDesigner (for mac) consistently crashes when I try to (re)opening it.

Here is the error message I get:

image.png.2ceb8d946a8b4fe022038b4ab209762b.png

I also have more details (Show Details) but I have no idea what I am able/need to share for having some help.

I already tried to reboot my mac. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, I tried to clear all any affinity files (in libraries as it is written on internet) from my computer but nothing worked.

I'd be happy if someone could help me.

Thanks a lot,

MFo

Hi @MFo,

Welcome to the forums.

Let's start by resetting the app.

You can do this by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open.

Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity - Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video.

Thanks,

Gabe.

Hi @GabrielM

Thanks a lot for your help, resetting the app worked properly, I am now able to reopen it without any problems. Do you know what could have caused the problem? And what specifing setting needed to be reset to make it work again? I'd like to know so next time I'll be able to deal with it on my own.

Thanks again,

MFo
