Shadows / Highlights Filter does not work

Recommended Posts

Are you sure? On my system it has an effect but not the one it used to. In 1.6 the highlights part darkened the image, now it brightens the highlights (at least the live version). I have not yet tested the "destructive" version.

I just tested the "destructive" version of the shadows/ highlights filter, it's the exact same behavior. Set the highlights range slider to something like 80 % or above to see a difference. The highlights strength slider brightens the highlights instead of darkening them as before. Below 80 % range the effect is hardly noticeable.

I get the same as dke. When first trying to apply the Live Filter Shadow/Highlights I get what the first screenshot shows. If I delete it and reapply then it seems normal. However the Highlights just allow lighting/brighten, not the ability to pull or darken highlights.

Same problem on windows 10 with the Live/Shadows filter, changing the renderer doesn`t fix it.
Only seemingly solution to get rid of the transparency issue is to put the filter above the image, something must have been botched up there.

@Pattou

How much megabyte is the file you have tested with?
What are the specifications of your computer? (For a quick overview, it might be useful to put them in your signature)

You filled in the "about me" section. I have moved it to the signature section. Feel free to go back and fill "About me" in with something else

Signatures only show in desktop view I think. It should be there now (can't tell I'm on a phone)

Can confirm the problem on my computer, using any size image from this test image (106KB) up ... using either GPU or WARP as the renderer.

Seems the issue is something to do with the Navigator preview as after a RAW file is developed only the Navigator preview shows the grid and the adjustments857700857_LiveS-HRAW.thumb.jpg.87fa0ce5c9d94990d215521783f9a765.jpg.

I checked by having two gradient layers with the top one in difference mode. While changing the filter settings,
effect is less for the highlights slider. It can be seen from the mild vertical grey area on the left side of the second image.
In the gradient, full white is on the left side.
