Vertical text for dust jacket spine

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Env: Publisher beta 1.7.0.162 on a MacBook running Mojave 10.14.1.

I'm new to Publisher and trying to create a book dust jacket. I've created the front/back flaps and front/back covers and everything has worked great. I'm impressed with the speed, stability and ease of use of Publisher. I'm now trying to create the spine and need to add two text frames (title and author) with a vertical orientation. I've watched the tutorials, searched Publisher help, searched the forums and clicked on every panel and menu I can find to no avail. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Doug

Hello @afdojo,

welcome to the forum!

Once you typed in your text switch to the move tool (V). The you see at the top of the text frame an extra handle. This one is to rotate the entire text frame. If you hold down the SHIFT key while rotating you can easily clock in 90 degrees.

The other way would be to look at the Transform Panel. There is an input field labeled 'R:' which stands for rotation. There you type in 90 and hit ENTER.

I hope that helps. Cheers,
d.
