BrianP Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Is there a way to preset the General Preferences for a user so they have our standard on their first login? I have found %appdata%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\Settings\GeneralPreferences.xml, but cannot find where these settings come from when creating the user profile. Thank You Quote
Staff Gabe Posted November 17, 2018 Staff Posted November 17, 2018 Hi @BrianP, Welcome to the forums. I'm not really sure I understand your question. The General Preferences are reflected in GeneralPreferences.xml. A true value is "ticked", a false value is not. Thanks, Gabe. Quote
BrianP Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 I need to make sure the the default option for everyone when they first open Photo/Designer is to have the option "Import PSD text as Text..." checked. I cannot find where to do this by default for people for before they first open the program. Copying the XML directly to the user profile isn't really going to be an option. Thanks, Brian Quote
Staff Gabe Posted November 21, 2018 Staff Posted November 21, 2018 The only way you can set that option is through the XML file. Surely you can push GeneralPreferences.xml through the network using your management system on every new login. Quote
BrianP Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 That would be possible, IF we can get that approved. That is not the prefered option by the IT management group for the Terminal Servers. May I suggest exposing the raw XML as a default somewhere that can be edited and then that is the file copied to the new user profile when they first launch the application. That or expose some options as variables that can be edited at installation. Either option would be helpful for large deployments. Quote
