Shortcut key confusion when selecting multiple objects

Recommended Posts

In most computer programs I use (if not all of them), if I want to select odd objects here and there I need to use the control key and click them but if I want to select a contiguous set of objects I use the shift key and select the first and last object of the set I want to select.

In Affinity Photo, this is true for the layers panel, but in the editor window it is not true, I need to press shift and click the various objects I want to select.

Having two different shortcuts that mean "select the objects I click and only the objects I click" in the same program, makes things very confusing and having the shortcut be shift and not control (command on mac) has had me clicking the wrong button hundreds of times.
