AD: transparent PNG problem in Powerpoint/Paint

Recommended Posts

Hi Forum,
In Affinity Designer 1.6.1 on mac os x, I designed a logo on transparent background.
All is fine on mac os x apps. Preview, Photoshop CS, Affinity Photo, ...

Only on windows Machine in Powerpoint and Paint, there is a white background displayed instead of a transparent background.
In Windows Fotos-App the logo is shown without Background on black App-Background. Also fine.

Maybe it is obvious, but I can't find any solution in App or here in Forum.

- Why in Powerpoint and Paint is instead of «no-background» a white background?
- Do you have some similar experiences or any work-around, so windows-user can use this Logo too in Powerpoint and Paint?
- Do I have to set some special options while «export as» PNG?

Thanks
Martin

What bit depth are you choosing when you export as png?

My understanding is that it should be 32 bit, or possibly 24 bit.

Hello mad99,

I'm on Windows10 and with Paint 3D I also have a problem with transparency.

See my screenshot: the logo is placed on an orange rectangle like the square visible in the center. This square is the only transparent part while the background is the size of the circle.

I no longer use PowerPoint but an equivalent software in which the transparency of the logo is preserved.
