RenWaller
Hello, If a bulleted line of text is longer than a single line, how do I get the beginning of the second line of text to line up with the text in the first line (after the • >>)? I do not want it to line up with the bullet, but rather with the text. If anyone can help, I would be very appreciative.

Staff MEB Posted November 15, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 15, 2018 Hi RenWaller, I'm assuming you are using Publisher. Is that correct? With the text frame selected go to menu View ▸ Show Text Ruler, then drag the left indent mark. Left Indent it's what's control the space (make sure the first line indent remains set to zero) in the Paragraph panel, Spacing section. ubiquity, JCEyre and RenWaller 3 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

ubiquity
As MEB says: 31 minutes ago, MEB said: Hi RenWaller, I'm assuming you are using Publisher. Is that correct? When you activate the ruler it is displayed above the text frame - you should be able to create a new bullet style (probably Bullet 4) to enable you to apply it regularly. MickRose
These work fine if you are using the Frame Text Tool. If you are using the Artistic Text Tool the View/Show Text Ruler isn't an option, but you can get the same result using the Paragraph Panel/Spacing/top left 2 boxes. Play around with them - hover over the numbers & use the mouse scroll wheel to move the text. ubiquity 1 Quote Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
ubiquity
Thanks MickRose - I hadn't investigated a solution for Artistic Text - will make a note of it.
Staff MEB Posted November 15, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 15, 2018 Not sure the Artistic Text tool is the most adequate for this. For text blocks the Frame Text tool gives far more control. The Artistic Text Tool is mostly intended for artistic uses as the name implies: single words or a sentence you may want to apply to a path or for text effects.
