Pathfinder style function...?

Recommended Posts

Is there any plan to allow the ability to merge shapes a la the Unite/Pathfinder tool in AI?

so far the only workaround that I can see is to save the file. Open it and edit in Illustrator using the Pathfinder tool. Then bring it back into Designer.

Is there some other way to merge multiple shapes into just one?

Thank you

best,

C’

Hi Caleb O. L.,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
You can use boolean operations for this. With two (or more shapes) selected tap the ellipsis icon the top left of the interface and from the Geometry section select the operation you want to perform. So to merge two objects together you can use the Add operation (or combine depending on what you want) for example.

Currently I am comparing Affinity with Adobe illustrator. Pathfinder, as in adobe, works easier. In affinity I can only use the layer---geometry command. The icons on the right top don't do anything. I work on the new mac mini with M1 processor, use Big Sur, last update.
