Mariusz go
Hi, It just is very practical It would be beautiful if duplication would remember more modifications. e.g., vector shift, rotation, variable scales. best regards wtrmlnjuc
AK21
Actually there isn't a way to duplicate layers – or did I miss something? I don't think that a duplicate button should be located next to the help (and undo/redo) button. Though it should be added in the layers panel and maybe as option if you tap and hold on a layer. Staff MEB Posted December 19, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 19, 2018 Hi AK21, Welcome to Affinity Forums With the layer selected, tap the ellipsis icon on the top left of the interface and select Duplicate. Hi MEB, too long, and this is not a joke.
Staff MEB Posted December 19, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 19, 2018 You can also do it through a gesture if you want: tap and hold with two fingers anywhere on screen then drag the object with another (note the move tool must be active/selected). Mariusz go
it is not always precise. additionally, it does not work when the objects are rotated. does not work with the option of duplicating and repeating the last move. Staff MEB Posted December 19, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 19, 2018 It does work with rotated objects (make sure the Move Tool is active/selected). Power Duplicate only works from the Edit menu (ellipsis icon). Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Mariusz go
Yes. you're right. Power duplicate requires tapping 2x the option menu. This is ok but the duplicate button would be great if it was faster available, i.e. on the toolbar or studio. it is very practical, sometimes the gestures do not work precisely and quickly. Do you know if there are any plans for this in a future update ?
benscottarts
It could do with a duplicate pop up asking how many duplicates and properties between each but that is more a designer function than specific to ipad I found it tricky to find the duplicate by gesture and then I think renaming the other menu based duplicate to power duplicate would help
