Optimisation of scanned slides and photos - Kodak ROC Plugin

I do some scanning of old slides and negatives on a Nikon Coolscan. The old slides are often changed in color, in a way that cannot be fixed by just a white balance adjustment or autolevels. However there are some more advanced software which analyzes these pictures individually and in a magic way often give very good results.
One of the more famous solutions is an old plugin for Photoshop "Kodak Digital ROC"

However it only runs on old versions of Photoshop. I tried it on Affinity Photo, but it was not detected.

Paint Shop Pro X5 works with this plugin, but in batch mode only with the plugins "default" settings, which are not very good.
Some scanner programs like "Vuescan" has a "restore fading" option which does something similar but not the same.
The program Ashampoo Photo Optimizer seems to use somehow the same "engine" as used in Vuescan "Restore fading".
However this "engine" is not the same as the Kodak Plugin.

It would be nice if Affinity Photo could do something similar to optimize old photos, especially if it could be using the  "Kodak Digital ROC" plugin

I used to use Digital ROC a long time ago for scanned slides and was often amazed as to what it could do with a poor image. There is nothing in the current crop of plug-ins that comes anywhere near it. There is an opening here for some enterprising plug-in maker as I cannot see it being incorporated into AP.
