Adding or subtracting one selection to/from another

Recommended Posts

This question has been bugging me for some time, so it is time for me to ask.  Say you have made a selection - eg of the right eye, then later a selection of the left eye.   Rather than using one eye and doing and redoing the selection of the other eye,  is there any way you can tell Affinity to add the two separate selections to make one new selection?  I know that you could save one as a spare channel and likewise the other, then add them in this way, but is there a simpler way?   Likewise, is it possible to subtract one selection from the another?

Using your eyes example, You would select the first eye and then make sure the Mode option is set to Add on the Selection Tool's Context menu, then just add the other eye.

Subtracting from a selection is just as easy either select subtract from the Selection Tool's Context menu or press Alt and drag the mouse with a selection tool to subtract.

Not possible, the only way to do it is the one you mentioned via spare channels.

I have been asking for this for quite some time now, APhoto needs something like PS selections.
