30west
I purchased the Mac version of Affinity Photo on the App Store, then liked it enough to want it on a Windows machine. I figured that I needed to buy it again directly from Serif, since App Store purchases don't provide an activation number. So..Okay, I think it's worth it. Now I'm concerned that the same Log-in info will be in my Serif "account" for both instances. Also, I did the direct purchase for the Windows machine on a Mac, so the "store" thought I was buying the Mac version and did not give me an option to download a Windows version. I was able to get a Windows "Trial" version downloaded and used my new activation code which worked on the Windows machine. I'm not sure that at some point, this isn't going to be an issue with future upgrades etc. BTW, how many machines are allowed on 1 license? Are there any plans to add basic browser and "rating" tags to AF? For me, that would make this a worthy "stand alone" product. thanks
Staff StevenS Posted November 4, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 4, 2018 Hi 30west , Welcome to the Affinity forum. I'm not quite sure what this means, can you please elaborate on the issue, and how it may be a problem? When purchasing through our own site, it will detect the device you are on and default to that version, but it can be changed during the check out process. If you have purchased the Mac version instead of the Windows version, please send an email to affinityreturns@serif.com with your order number, and they will be able to refund the purchase for you. I suspect the app will stop working once the 10 day trial expires. You can use Affinity apps for Windows on any Windows computers you own or control by ONE person. The retail versions of the Affinity apps for Windows used to be separate downloads, but the latest builds allow the user to switch from trial to full mode by entering a valid email address and product key pair.
