Has anyone found how to import scanned images into Affinity.?  It was so easy with PhotoPlus but Affinity has defeated me to date.

Welcome to Affinity Forums
Currently there's no built-in scanning functionality on Windows due to poor 64-bit scan driver support. You have to use the program that come with your scanner.

If your scanner software saves your images as (say) a tiff, and if Affinity Photo is the default  program for opening tiffs, then, under Windows, your scanned file will open automatically in AP. Not quite as good as built-in scanner support, but it works pretty well for me with both VueScan and SilverFast.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply John,  I don't have either programme but will look into getting one of them.

I use Vuescan and can say its a very good app, just make sure your scanner is supported: https://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/supported-scanners.html the support is pretty comprehensive but always worth checking first.

There is also a simple Windows-Scanner App available, which claims to be usable with usual scanner hardware, though I've never used or tried out that one. Thus can't tell if it does work  well with all scanner hardware together and/or if it maybe can send or pass scanned data over to other apps like APh. - The scanner software @John Rostron mentioned above is very good (both are very capable applications, especially SilverFast here) and somehow a must have if you have some from these supported advanced scanner hardware in use.

If it saves the image in one of the formats that AP looks for, then it should load automatically. The same goes for any software that came with your scanner.

As far as APh is setup as the default app for that image format, or if there is some right menu "Open with..." or "Send to..." option possibly available. Don't know, but since that Win-Scanner app is an add-on MS Windows supporting one, it might offer some better hooked in interoperation here, at least it would be something I would expect from Microsoft here. But maybe it's just a plain one without much comfort in that regard.

Thanks to all who have replied to my query.   Although I have used Serif products for many years, I am new to using a Forum.  I am a lttle surprised that there are such generous folk who not only read the questions people ask but take the time and trouble to offer advice and support.   Brilliant!   Thank you so much.
