Why and what are files saved in afphoto format?  I cannot open them after they are saved in that format so why would I use them?  I can't select them in Affinity.  They exist in finder and they exist in recent files but are greyed out.  If we can figure out how I can open them how are they different than 16 bit tiffs?

upload one of your un-openable files and we can see if they open on our mac's?

an .afphoto file saves everything you have added to that file and allows you to edit it, such as filters, and adjustments, it also saves layers and presets, document specific colour swatches and more.

If they are greyed out that would suggest they have been deleted or are on an external device that has been removed so the Mac cannot gain access to them.

Create a simple afphoto file by going to File > Save (⌘+S) and save it to your desktop, close the file (⌘+W) and then go to File > Open Recent and select the file you have just saved to Desktop.. Does that work?
