Joone
Can anyone please tell me how to fill a layer with colour. I am trying to do this on a pixel layer, but I can't find where to select a colour. I want to set a black background before I open any other layers. I've got the workbook which just says drag the tool across the screen but it's set to white so doesn't add anything to an already white background. I know how to do this in photoshop but for the life of me can't find out how to do it in Affinity Photo
Staff MEB Posted October 23, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 23, 2018 Hi Joone, Welcome to Affinity Forums You can select the colour in the Colour panel on the top right of the interface (by default). Click its tab label if Affinity Photo displaying another panel to switch to the Colour panel. Another way to fill a layer with colour is to use a Fill Layer (menu Layer ▸ New Fill Layer) which will keeps gradients editable in case you use them to fill it instead of a solid colour. Pixel layers don't keep them editable. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Joone
Hi thanks for being so quick in replying. This is what the top of my screen looks like, I can't see the colour panel can you point me in the right direction?
Staff MEB Posted October 23, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 23, 2018 Seems you have closed or moved some panels. Go to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Reset Studio to revert back to defaults, or just enable/tick this panel going to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Colour. Joone
Hi MEB, thanks I have now reset and have access to the colour panel. You are right I probably closed or moved it without realising.
