Jim Monson
When I am choosing a layer sometimes the layer suddenly goes inside the layer above, and for a moment I think that I deleted it. This is very annoying when working quickly. Is this an intended feature of Designer, and if so can I turn it off. It appears that having the cursor at a certain place does this. I think that in the old Freehand this was a feature that I did not like at all. Is it now in Designer?
Staff MEB Posted October 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 22, 2018 Hi Jim Monson, Affinity Designer always worked like this since the beginning. You can drag layers above others to move them to these layers (or groups) or to clip them (in case the layers in questions are objects). Jim Monson
Thanks, MEB, I use this all the time very deliberately to enclose a raster element inside a drawn line object, so I must be that I am clicking right on the wrong place, i.e., right on the edge of the layer above the one I'm working on. I wish it were less sensitive and one had to be deliberate about it. I'll have to watch my cursor much more carefully since i work very fast on tedious parts of map making.
