Halloween Help!

Hi everyone

Reaching out for some Halloween help please!

See attached file ... as you can guess, we're trying to superimpose a massage icon onto a pumpkin, to try (not very well so far!) to create the look of a carved out pumpkin, where the carving template has some association with therapeutic massage.

Can anyone advise how we can take what we've got and make it look a bit more realistic, rather than a sticker stuck on the pumpkin

Ps. the colouring on the massage icon is to try to create a glowing fire look from inside the pumpkin but if that complicates matters, happy to just have a plain carving!

Try out some of the effects panel options and settings on the massage icon and see if the result looks somehow what you thought.

... and other samples like that one and try to apply something of those to your massage icon.

Hi @creativevision,

That's what I've got using the 3D FX. 

Make sure you invert the profile curve as the standard one will make it "pop out" rather than carved. 

I merged visible after the FX, masked the pumpkin on the new merged layer and mesh distort it.

Wow Gabe, that's pretty amazing for such quick work! Looks good and we may go for your idea after all, but actually we were hoping to get a version where it looks carved right through to hollow centre and then simply lit up from inside by candles or something. So a full depth carving leaving hollow in the area of the shape rather than (albeit impressive looking) top layer carving.

Well there are a lot of combined effects settings and try outs possible, just make your own try outs.
