Designer crashing on a 90kb file

Recommended Posts

It doesn't crash for me but I'm a Mac user.

All I have done is save as and added the 2 to the file name, see if it crashes now: Wheel Chart2.afdesign

PS change the title to reflect 90kb not 90mb

I am a Windows user but I have no trouble either. I can adjust anything in the file.

I am using Windows 10 with Designer 1.6.5.123

I can also open and edit the file in Photo with no problems.

Try resetting Designer by holding down the Ctrl key when you launch the program. When the Clear User Data panel appears, press Clear and then try.

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

Working now!
Thank you very much, your a star!

I am using Win 7 - am also running lastest version.
I'll remember the Ctrl key trick - very useful.

I'd wondered if it was something related to RAM, allocation now set to 16384

I have 16 gig of Ram on this PC. maybe I'd not allocated enough?
What is recommended for this application, I guess as much as possible?

I also use Designer on a 8gb Windows 7 machine  and even (very occasionally) on a 2gb netbook thingy.

More is always better but for stuff like this it will cope OK.

Both Affinity apps do occasionally get confused and the Clear User Data usually works. Even when uninstalling and reinstalling don't.

All good to know, thank you again for your time and info!

I've not long been using these apps and have to say I'm pretty impressed.
There are few small things I miss (having been an Adobe-ite for years) - but overall things are good and in some instances - even better.
I'm awaiting publisher now as it completes a nice set.

Kind regards.
