Sampled color in Lens Filter

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Going through the trial for AP and really like it, especially the ease at making selections and masking/refining. There's some alien tech going on there, lol.  :)

Anyhow, still learning.

Was wondering when using the lens filter how can I use my sampled color from an image as my filter color.

thanks

Hi jscot and Welcome to the Forums,

You have to resample the colour using the colour picker on the Lens Filter settings.  Just click on Filter colour and then you can use the colour picker on that dialog.  There isn't away that i know of to apply a colour you've already picked using the Colour studio

It isn't quite the same thing but maybe useful in some instances, I noticed that the Lens Filter Adjustment's color picker includes Swatches as a color source, so that means if there is an existing document, application, or (for Macs) system color palette with the desired color in it, it could be picked that way. That also means the options for the Color Picker Tool for Global/current layer source & sample radius could be used to add a color sampled that way to a Swatches palette & then picked for the filter's color.

Thanks.

The color selection dialog window in the lens filter closes if I try and use the color picker tool.

What I've been doing is sampling a color with the color picker. Then noting the RGB values. I open the lens filter dialogue and type in the values.

Yes, it's workable. Been looking for a better way.

Are you sure you are using the filter color picker in the Lens filter & then dragging the color picker from the popup?

Windows users don't appear to have that option

But in Publisher we do have a mysterious Lock Colourspace padlock icon

Also missing from the Mac version is the white with red slash 'no color' icon. I don't know if it should be there or not, but it is MIA.
