walt.farrell
Some of your suggestions are already available, I believe: 1. Show/hide invisibles option: Text > Show Special Characters is probably what you're asking for. 2. Transform: flip 180 degrees: I'm sure what you want to flip, but objects can be flipped by using right-clicking and selecting Transform > Flip Horizontal (or Vertical). Or their nodes can be dragged to invert them. 3. Transform: custom 90/45 degrees clockwise/counter clockwise Objects can be rotated by their rotation handles, and if done with shift pressed they will rotate in 15 degree increments. Or they can be rotated using the Transform panel. 4. Incremental arrows on text sizing/leading I'm not sure about the leading, but text size can be adjusted via keyboard shortcuts. There are defaults you can see in the Preferences panel, but for example ctrl+> will increase text size, and ctrl+< will decrease it. There are also menu items for that (Text > Size > Bigger/Smaller/Precise Bigger/Precise Smaller). The default keyboard shortcuts for Precise Bigger and Smaller don't work (at least on Windows) and I'll report that as a bug. 8. Preview mode in View View > Preview Mode already exists. Edited October 18, 2018 by walt.farrell Show Special Characters is on Text, not View. Sorry. appaulmac
Thanks Walt. I tried using the Help text field to search for invisibles but nothing came up. No surprise, it's called SPECIAL characters!

jmwellborn
I suggest you start a new topic in the Bugs in Publisher section of these Forums.. Either Bugs for Mac or Bugs for Windows. That way, the developers will be able to help you right away. They may miss your entry here, and it would be a shame. They should be able to get you up and running!! Lord McSquash
*Great Start, a few suggestions* (I'll add in there, instead of starting a new discussion) Great start on the program, looking forward for a worthy alternative. It feels pretty stable but getting used to the . IMHO Indesign is not that great (It's free and it doesn't suck...). Here's my gripes/requests: • (Bug) I changed the origin of the ruler, then dragged a new guide. The position of the guide (in pop up window) didn't reflect the new origin. (see Screen shot) • When changing the guide I couldn't get it to snap on a certain ruler mark. I wanted 7.0 but only could get 6.994 or 7.008. Adobe Apps let you hold down shift to lock on the marks (.0, .125, .25, .5 etc). Please add. • Let the palettes on the right be minimized into icons like Adobe apps. It's a great way to save space (13" screen here). • Let us Minimize the icons on the top to just words (13" screen again) • I love the Guides panel, add to to the control pallets on the right, and make it easy to tab through all the values without the mouse. • Can we have the any box can hold Graphics, Text or a Color like Indesign? • Lastly, Indesign takes a long long 18 seconds to open. Publisher takes 14 seconds to open. Better, but make all Affinity programs load fast like Apple's. I'm sure Apple does some background loading, but make it feel like they are ready to go as soon as they load fast. Love the Program a lot. Looking forward to the final (feels pretty solid IMHO). Or create "Show", then add submenu with the options with Preview Mode at the top.

They have incremental arrows in Affinity Designer in the Character palette's Positioning and Transform section. This feature may be down the line. I don't use keyboard shortcuts too much. Sometimes I do. But most of the time, I'm on the mouse. So incremental arrows are easier.
Manon Etc
Ah! Just updated the app, and now they have the Positioning and Transform section too.

"Can we have the any box can hold Graphics, Text or a Color like Indesign? " not sure what you mean, I will point out that the Shapes Tool(s) will let you change them to Text Frames or Picture Frames with a right click after placement, plus they can be any colour. Regarding your other points, yeah, I can get behind those. Best guess is that you simply didn't have it open or maybe closed it accidentally without realizing it and when you updated the beta it reset the panels and opened it again.
