Non-retina screen glitches

Recommended Posts

I have a retina MBP connected to a 24" Dell monitor (1920x1200px) - all looks fine on the MBP, but there are screen glitches when Publisher is on the monitor, most notably broken up margin guides, but also page numbers with small thumbnails - in the screenshot I've put the same text on the page beside the thumbnail so you can see it's not just a ropey monitor!

Hey iaing,

I've just connected a MBP to a 1920x1080 monitor and it seems fine. What scaling settings are you using? I tried 'Default for display' as well as everything under 'Scaled' along with 'Larger Text', 'Default' and 'More Space'.

Is this happening all the time?

Weird, no - I can't reproduce it now either - scratch this one off!

Chris,

Just an FYI. I have had this problem periodically too, but when I go back to _try_ and repeat it, it never happens. My setup is a MBP (2015: running Mojave) connected to a Dell UP2516 (2560x1440).

I have other hassles that end up like this, scares the hell out of me then nothing. I worry that there is some sort of deep problem with the code and the OS not playing together nicely and these invisible bugs will bite us all with version 1.8. (Phase of the moon and relative humidity plus how many vehicles drive past in an hour add up to the magic number needed to trigger this.)

Or, no news is good news.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
