VectorCat
right now, AD pumps them out with @2x, @3x at the end of the name. I like to end these with _280, _560, _840 so that I know what the pixel size is of at least one of the dimensions. Possible to enable this kind of naming of exported slices? Staff MEB Posted April 3, 2015 Staff Share Posted April 3, 2015 Hi VectorCat Presently no. I know the Export persona will be revamped later with previews, and i believe there will be some improvements to the naming conventions and export options but i don't know the extent of those modifications to give you more details at this point. VectorCat
OK..thank you for the info..so, after exporting, what do ppl do? head to the finder and manually append ".jpg" or ".png" ?
Achim63
The "@2x" etc. are the standard way of naming different icon sizes, so Mac developers will need just that (see here for Apple's documentation regarding this). Appending extensions is not necessary as explained in my answer to another question you had. If you really need to change the names of (many) files, I highly recommend "Better Rename 9" (or familiarize yourself with the Terminal and the "mv" command). But please don't let them make AD a bloated program for minor features that only a handful of users need.
Cam
@VectorCat For simple tasks like renaming or converting selected files you could setup an Automator workflow in OS X. It can be an effective way to help speed up simple but tedious tasks.
