Export is a total joke...

Recommended Posts

I have been forced to download and install AF designer because a co-worker created a large number of 'vector' illustrations in AFDesigner.

Since most other staffers use Adobe Illustrator, these files need to be converted.

To my dismay I have found that the export functionality of AFDesigner is a total joke: export formats which should inherently support vectors just contain completely rasterised versions of the artwork.

What on earth is the use of that. You have ZERO interoperability. ZERO...

What a joke.

There is definitely a need for more tools than just the Adobe monoculture but by doing this, you are just making yourself redundant.

Hi KrisJa,

Welcome to the forums :)

It sounds as though the file is being rasterised on export this could be due to non vector objects within the document. Do you have any Layer FX applied to objects within your document?

Thanks

Callum

Hi KrisJa,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Have you tried to export as PDF rather than EPS? It supports a few more features. If the designer's file uses layer effects they will all be rasterised on export as Callum mentioned, similarly to what Illustrator does when using certain effects.
