mark us
Epub Export would be very good and automatic linking between Text frames between the pages If you import, let's say, 300 pages, you wouldn't want to link the Text frames all manually!! Staff MEB Posted October 5, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 5, 2018 Hi mark us, Welcome to Affinity Forums Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the second point, there's already a way to achieve this: create a text frame with the dimensions/position you want on the page, paste or insert/load a text document (Text ▸ Insert Text from File) into the frame then ⇧ (shift) click the link arrow on the right side (on bottom) to create additional pages/text frames automatically until all text is inserted in the document. mark us 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Helmar
Hi MEB, he was talking about an auto-flow of text. In Indesign you can get text frames added and filled automatically according to your master page setup. This is very handy when it comes to adding a lot of text to a document with many pages, like - believe it or not :-) - a book. You'd write and proof your book in -say- Word, and then move over to an application like Indesign or Publisher. Hope this helps, Helmar
fde101
That is basically what the feature MEB was describing does, just without the need for the master pages.

I understand. I created the text frames on the master page, but they don't become active on the actual page. In Indesign you can shift-cmd-click a master page object and this way disconnect it from the master page for further editing. I'll try it MEB's suggestion/feature to see how it works. Cheers and thank you, Helmar
fde101
Master pages are not yet fully implemented as of the current state of the beta versions.

I noticed - see my own thread on it. MEB's shift-click works very well! Cool. :-)
