How Do I Change a Colored Logo to all White or a Different Color

Recommended Posts

Can someone please give me instructions or a link to a good tutorial for this skill I cannot figure out.   I have watched tutorials, but none of them have given me quite what I need.

I am using Affinity Designer.  I need to change the color on the attached logo to all white so that I can put it on a colored background.  Right now, it is on a solid white square.  So, I would need it on a transparent background.

Any help is great.  I've tried and tried to figure it out.  I know it can't be hard since I've seen designers do it quite effortlessly in PhotoShop.

But I LOVE Affinity!

Thanks so much!

It might actually be easier in Affinity Designer to just recreate the logo's

Hi Kodimac,

You can use the Erase blend mode on the imported image to turn it white and then click on the cog icon in the layers for 'Blend Ranges' options and adjust the Source layers ranges to remove the background, i had to adjust the underlying composition ranges to get rid of the pixelation, here's a screen shot of the settings:

Nice work @summersara

The Layer Blend mode Erase doesn't turn the logo white it erases it? I applied a layer fx Colour Overlay: white

I started of with a new project with a white background, not transparent so when I brought the logo in and placed over the grey quickshape, it’s turned solid white from underlying background, I didn’t have any look turning the logo white with the colour overlay fx.

Thanks to both of you.  If I follow your settings, it works.  I just have no idea why, haha.  I need to sit down and figure out Blend Ranges apparently.

There’s been lots of posts recently about Blend Ranges, it’s how I discovered it, a site search might bring some of them up :)
