Please use Affinity Publisher's built in Auto-update feature to get this new beta or Click here to download the latest beta for macOS

Status: Public Beta
Purpose: General Testing
Requirements: Mac OS 10.9 or above

Hi, we have a preview of build 139 (also called 140, see * below) for you. It is on Auto-update which we would like you to test, but it is also available as a manual download.

As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity where you may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents.

We hope you enjoy the product, and as always, if you've got any problems installing or running up, please don't hesitate to post in this thread.

Any problems actually using this version please make a new topic in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Please feel free to leave general suggestions and comments in the Discussion Forum. Many thanks for your continued feedback.

by the way, can add sort of Preview Mode from InDesign, so you can hide all guides, grids, baseline, left&right studio at one click and look at your layout?

I believe control + W does this, but it would be awesome if it was a teensy bit more obvious.

It takes both ctrl+W (or the new View > Preview Mode) and Tab to get everything that Max asked for, I think.

Seems more stable, a little quicker and the improvements are nice. Early days though. [smiley-face emoticon]

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Nice, but it looks like they still haven't fixed the awful subscript/superscript issue. Try using them for yourself if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Patrick will tell me off for responding in this thread, but please try the Superscript / Subscript options in the Character Tab under 'Positioning and Transform' which synthesize, rather than the OpenType options under Typography. Unless I have misunderstood your issue, in which case please start a new thread. That said we may have to do something about the typography options because they can be quite misleading.

I noticed that the main toolbar is different over by the snapping region. Was that change intentional?

The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!

No, pressing and holding CTRL when you open the program brings up a reset dialog with the top 3 options checked. Pressing Clear with these set will restore the toolbar buttons I think.

It reset the workspace, but it is still different from the first few betas. I recall there being a third option to the left of the baseline option. I forget the actual name, but even if I customize the toolbar, it doesn't exist.

Seeing how this wasn't an intentional change, should I make a new topic on this?

No need for a new topic. It was an intentional change. We removed baseline grid from the main toolbar as it was not a sensible place for it. This lead to an odd icon showing (that was not meant to be there) that the reset has got rid of.
