wallydd
I have hundreds of Microsoft Digital Image Pro .png files, very old version, that have been created to print note cards. These are not templates, they are self-created. They contain two individual images along with text etc. All of these are separate parts. I have been using W7 and switching to W10 which does not support the old software. I am testing the free trial of Affinity Designer and it opens the file but it is all one image, I cannot edit the individual parts. Hoping there is a way to do that? R C-R
If the info on these png files is not too private or sensitive it might help to attach one of them to a followup post so other users can see if there is anything unusual about them. Unfortunately, I think new forum users have to make several posts before the ability to add attachments is unlocked (as an anti-spam feature), so you may not yet be able to do that. wallydd
I've added one of the files in question. Everything you see should be able to be edited separately
MikeW
If they were really PNG files that had editable text, layers and such items, then MS used extensions to the PNG specification much like some other software did. And like those PNG files from other applications, Affinity products--indeed, any non-MS software--likely cannot open them like the MS application could. However, the text portions can be removed and added in Affinity software, the image portions can be cut out and placed separately, etc. Mike R C-R
wallydd
I was afraid of that, I do understand what you are saying but I was hoping there was a setting or command I was missing that would allow me to edit these files easily. I pretty much knew I was headed in this direction. W10 does not support that old version of Microsoft Image Pro and the software is no longer being produced. Thank you.
