Hi, just got your Affinity Photo workbook and I am having trouble downloading your files. I keep getting 404 Not found. This is the link I've been using: http://https//affin.co/adjustment_brightness_contrast.jpg. Is this not correct?

Hi Kar,

Welcome to the forums.

You first need to download the Resources for the Core Skills chapter, the link is on Page 86. Once you have downloaded and extracted the zip file you'll have the necessary files for each section, including Adjustments.

I've entered the link(on page 86) in my browser. However, I am still getting an error.

Enter the link exactly as shown on the page, without any extra prefixes or suffixes & tap the Return key. Do not click on Google or any other search engine suggestions that appear below the URL field where you entered the link, or move the mouse pointer over any of them.

Hi, so now I've worked my way to merging & tone mapping. Can somebody help me dowload/find the hdr - window folder I need for the exercise in my Affinity Photo workbook. I;ve selected  'New HDR Merge, and when I click on add it opens up my Finder folder and I can't find the file titled P3230573.jpg & P3230577.jpg.

If you mean the "Secrets of HDR" Enthusiast Project, look near the top of page 174 for the link below the blue Resources heading. Enter that in your web browser to download the hdr.zip archive. Expand the zip archive & you should end up with a folder named "hdr" with 2 subfolders, named "HDR - Beach" & "HDR - Window." The jpg files you want are in the second folder.

Hello again. I am working on the elegance.dng project and the image is mirrored & doesn't look like anything in the workbook. Should I do something about it? Will I eventually get a full image? Because I can't do any touch ups past her left eye.

thanks again,

The elegance.zip file is quite large -- about 1.26 GB -- so it can take quite a while to download it. Unzipped, the .dng file should be a bit over 18 MB. Is your file that size?

Thanks. For some reason I was looking in the Designer Workbook. :$

I'm not sure what you mean by the image being mirrored, and not looking like the workbook. I seem to recall you had an image attached to your post, which looked fine to me and matches the book's image.

The file was removed, I believe because it is the copyrighted work of one of the contributors to the Photo Workbook, probably Mark Ivkovic.

Hi, when I open the file elegance.dng from affinity it looks like this:

You probably used the right "mirror" button (from the top three button group) and have leaved that pressed on top of the iconbar (?).

If yes, use instead the left one from those three buttons there on top in order to see it as the actual single image. Also zoom slightly out ...

I deleted the files and went back to upload them again (https://affin.co/elegance). I reopened it, and it appeared in the same way, with the mirrored icons appearing the way they should. (see image). If I open it in an app called Polaar image it looks normal, however, it will no long be in its raw format.

Resource links other than the ‘core skills’ one (https://affin.co/photocoreskills) should not be shared on this public forum, since they’re intended for use only by owners of the Affinity Photo Workbook.

I want to work on the elegant tutorial in the book. Would you happen to have the files? I can not find them online. If so, can you post them or email them to me? wtbusiness@yahoo.com

The resource locations for all workbook projects are described in the workbook, at the start of the chapter. For that one, look at the top of page 266 under Resources.
