TEcHNOpls
Hi, I have a photo with a white sky, and some foliage. So, I added a layer with some clouds, set it to darken, but I don't like how it looks. So, what I'm looking for is a way to select what is changing when these clouds are added. Is they any way you can think of to do this? Quote "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
Polygonius
Your head/synopsis is confusing???? But if you just want to select/replace a sky.... there are a lot of tricks, even with filigran backgrounds... Youtube "replacing sky".... if you mean "how to select" clouds... well, clouds are mostly high or mid... There is a possibility to select just high/mid (there is also a macro-pack to selct more different on lumisoty....) you will find under selection????? Staff Dan C Posted September 25, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 25, 2018 Hi TEcHNOpls I'm not entirely sure what you're asking for here, my apologies. Could you provide a screenshot to show what you're trying to select? TEcHNOpls
Hi, maybe I was not clear. So... to simplify the question: how do I select parts of photos that have been affected by another layer. ie. If I use darken as blending, It will affect parts of photos, and I want to select these parts only. Quote "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..." firstdefence
It really depends how much of the layer set to darken is covering the image below. Without a screenshot we can't advise because we are just guessing at what you want to achieve. Vague questions get vague answers I'm afraid and seeing as how this is generally a visual forum images are important to the process of assisting you. You don't have to screenshot the whole screen nor the whole image but it helps to show some of the image and all of the layers involved. It sounds to me like you are trying to replace a sky or add an effect to a sky. TEcHNOpls
Ok, so... I have this part of photo. Then I added a layer on "darken": What I want to do is select what was changed only ('darkened'), so I can work on masking this to better fit what I have here. Also, my question is more general: how to select where a layer has actually been applied (visibly) on an image. Quote "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..." R C-R
Please include a screenshot of the Layers panel, as @firstdefence requested. It sounds like you might be asking about masking or layer stacking, but it still isn't clear what you want to do without seeing the layers. firstdefence
The white areas can be erased using Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper, you can then drop clouds in behind the layer, there would be no need to darken anything example file.afphoto Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more...
