Old Bruce
I am not certain if I have ever used a Drop Cap with wnything other than Left aligned (Ragged Right) or Left Justified. But this behaviour of sticking the Cap out on the Left side of the Text Frame just can not be correct. Align Left Edge on/off makes no difference. The way it is supposed to be --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wrong ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wronger or Wrongest. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
A_B_C
Yes, that looks pretty wrong (Indesign seems to do it the same way), though I cannot remember at the moment to have seen drop caps with centered or right aligned text. Hmm.
Wim Daniels
In my opinion the third paragraph is acceptable in all three cases. It would look nicer if the paragraph was somewhat longer. Would you ever use a drop cap on paragraphs with fewer lines than the drop cap is high? That seems like bad design indeed...
