can not use the Preview option when using refine selection

It looked like you deselected the selection at approx 1:09 normally you would still have marching ants selection showing.

This screen is not a clear selection. please You look at 1:40. I would like to work with just checking the selection.

As @firstdefence said, what did you do at 1:09 or after 1:09 ?

Because you removed the red mask overlay, which is where it all went wrong.

If the red overlay is not there, you can't change it !

Ah ... Look at 1:07. When I add or subtract a selection, the overlay disappears. I do not want to remove the overlay because I want to.

It would be wrong to add to a selection, yes.

At 0:58 he is not adding regions, he is painting with the Matte brush to refine the fur. That is not modifying the selection, that is refining the mask in a very localised area. There is a very big difference!

You can increase or decrease the Mask area (red) by painting with the Foreground or Background brush. That is similar to increasing or decreasing the selection area but again, there is a difference!

What EXACTLY are you doing/clicking between 1:07 and 1:09, when the mask suddenly disappears ?

Because that is where it is going wrong.

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
