lancslad
This started a couple of days ago, my first problem during two years of use. When I open an image it has a strange appearance. I tried resetting everything to default, no change. I just re-installed the program, no change. I've attached a screenshot of the effect (image of a flower) and my color preferences overlaid just in case this is the problem. Probably something silly at my end. Any insights appreciated. Staff Gabe Posted September 20, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 20, 2018 Hi @lancslad , Can you please attach the file in question? If it's too big, you can use our dropbox account: https://www.dropbox.com/request/w2sHxwAnlCHk546Nx67E Does this happen on a blank document? Are your GPU drivers up to date? Thanks, Gabe. lancslad
Thanks for the prompt response Gabe. This happens every time I open a new file - raw, jpeg etc. I used the screenshot to show the typical effect I get. Very small parts of the actual image show through. I've attached a jpeg of what the screenshot, which was just a random file and opens fine in other s/w, should look like. No I didn't - 2MB and 1MB uploads both failed. I could attach a link but it is just an image of a flower so will not help. It has to be something pretty basic but I went through all the Preferences and did not spot anything. Can you please download the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer's website, uninstall the current drivers, reboot, install the new drivers, reboot, and try to open a new image again? lancslad
Thanks for the suggestion and I will try it later in the day. I use a lot of other s/w - LR, ACDSee, Luminar, PSP etc. and they are all fine so I am not sure why it would be just AP I have a problem with. Nonetheless I will check out the drivers later. Regards. lancslad
I went ahead with the driver update for the graphics card. Problem solved (it threw me that all my other s/w was fine). Please feel free to go home early today. Thanks for the prompt assistance.
