Linked vs Embedded in Publisher

Recommended Posts

I would think the issue is that default placing is embedding. After you unembed them they are not flushed properly from file contents. It would be much better if linking were a default and embedding a user option, as this is how layout software has always worked.
Unless someone can explain why embedding is a great thing?

Because with a document that uses embedding you can simply pick up the one document and move it to a different computer, or send it to another user. In essence, it's a kind of package.

I kinda wished there were some modern revolutionary reason. I only embed graphics that are used in templates as those tend to get lost when transferring templates to different users. Other one time used graphics are handled as linked with normal workflow hygiene.
