exporting editable files

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a fairly new user to Affinity Designer, and I am currently having a problem exporting files that my print house can use. This was the reply after I tried to export my .afd files as .psd files:

These files are all in RGB colorspace, We need them in cmyk.
Also few problems.
I have to convert them to Illustrator, but the text is now rasterized, and I can't convert them as objects to illustrator. (see attachment) Is it possible to send me photoshop files that are with editable text so I can convert them to Illustrator as objects. Also then I need the fonts also.
It would be better to have it in vector, because right now the text is to pixel.

Obviously, I know that I can convert to CYMK, but why can't I make the text files editable? And how do I make the vector image with editable text? Any answers greatly appreciated.

You might be better exporting to a PDF file because this is how Affinity Designer opens illustrator and Photoshop files, it accesses the PDF portions of the PSD and Ai files, You can embed fonts in the PDF export and Illustrator will open them. You can also tell the PDF export not to rasterise anything within the file.
