affinity_admirer
In this screenshot, which of the two tabs is the current document? This problem is worst when there are exactly two documents open. With three, then there's an odd-one-out that is brighter. But with only two, there's no indication whether bright or dark means 'current'. In fact, I'd say brightening the current document's tab is misleading, since if you continue the tab metaphor, the tab with a background colour closest to the canvas (i.e. darker) creates more of a tab-like affordance. This does actually cause me a problem. After a month of using the application quite regularly, I still find myself clicking the wrong tab. 00Ghz
You have a point. It feels like the darker tab is actually active. Quote UI Designer, CG Artist Macbook Pro 15" 2014 2.5 Ghz, 750M https://www.behance.net/VladMafteiuScai

Sad that it still remains unresolved. Aammppaa

smadell
I think this has been suggested before, but I'd love to see something like this: Quote Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2 (latest retail versions) - desktop & iPad Culling - FastRawViewer; Raw Developer - Capture One Pro; Asset Management - Photo Supreme Mac Studio with M2 Max (2023}; 64 GB RAM; macOS 13 (Ventura); Mac Studio Display - iPad Air 4th Gen; iPadOS
Pšenda
Yes, the current way of showing is confusing and inconsistent. Window title colors are based on panel tab colors, which is correct - active tab is also lighter. But the title of the active tab is highlighted, others are darker. All text/filename in the window titles are highlighted - why? Why is not highlighted title only on the active window, and others darker? If rulers are shown, why do they not have the same color as the active window title (just like card color in tabs)? Why is lighter? The same color would be analogous and therefore consistent with displaying cards and your tabs.
